Are fuses different for ac and dc?

They can be safely applied if the ac and/or dc circuit voltage is rated into them. When installed in an AC circuit, a fuse performs differently than when it is installed in a DC circuit. At 60 or 50 cycles a second, the current is crossing the zero potential.
