Are plasma TVs outdated?

Plasma TVs are not made for consumers, but there are still fans of Plasma TVs, and millions of plasma TVs are still in use. Although it is quite difficult to find Panasonic TVs while they quietly withdraw from the US market in 2016.Millions of Plasma TVs are still in use despite the fact that they are no longer being made for consumers. Is that correct? It's hard to find Panasonic TV's in the U.S. as they pulled out of the market.
