Can a faulty surge protector trip a breaker?

If you use a power strip, it should not damage your PC. I'm not familiar with any power strips that increase voltage, your PC will only take the amperage it needs, increased voltage could damage it, but I'm not familiar with it. It is possible that it is something else on the circuit overloading the breaker.
