Can a freon leak in a refrigerator be fixed?

You can't, that's the short answer. If it turns out that the leak is in the insulation, then your fridge has to be destroyed to access it, because it's labour intensive to chase a leak in itself. There is a lot of work to be done to fix and test the leak. You need to pressure test and evacuate the system.
