Can I put my router in a cabinet?

The Wi-Fi signals from your router will pass through most objects, but it will affect the strength of the signal. If you put it in a closet or a cabinet, it will reduce the speed and distance the Wi-Fi signal can travel. Where the router is placed in your home also makes a significant difference. If you place the router on the floor, part of the signal will go through the floors. If you place it near a window, part of the signal will be sent outside.
