Can I use wire nuts on 220?

Wire nuts can be safely used to bond 220v electrical wires, but only if the original cable is fed from the main electrical panel, and the neutral wire (of the original cable) is insulated. Wire nuts are special, insulated nuts used to bond the ends of electrical wires for a tight connection, so it’s never advisable to use insulation or electrical tape in the place of a wire nut.
