Can leaving your TV on all the time ruin it?

If you only watch it 4 to 6 hours a day, the TV will get dimmer sooner than if you watch it all the time. Reducing the backlight control or turning down the contrast may extend the TV's life, but only a little. Is this true? The same thing is not true with liquid crystal displays. Thus, over time, the television that remains whenever it becomes weak, before, that was seen only from 4 to 6 hours a day. By reducing the control of the backlight (many LCDs) or lowering the contrast (plasma) can prolong the life of TVs, but only at a certain point. Likewise it does not apply to LCDs.
