Can you fix a bad thermocouple?

Try not to change the mechanism or the gas line. A faulty thermocouple may be the cause of the appliance's problem. When the pilot light goes out, the thermocouple turns on the gas supply. The burned out or broken thermocouple needs to be replaced.
