Can you plug electric oven into normal socket?

There are some basic electric ovens that can run on 13amp plugs. Small ovens that are designed to be part of a fitted kitchen are often rated under 3 kilowatts, and may be replaced simply by plugging a new model into an existing 13-amp plug sockets. Hardwiring is required for larger freestanding cookers that are rated higher than 3kW.
