Can you replace burners on a gas stove?

To replace the burner, you need to cut the gas and power to the stove, remove the burner cap and use a screwdriver. The igniter's wires need to be disconnected. Is this true? The U.S. is located in the US. You will be able to cook on your stove top again with the Solid Gas Range burner.
