Can you use 12 gauge wire with a 30 amp breaker?

A 30-amp breaker doesn't work with a 12-gauge wire. 10 gauge is the minimum wire size that can be used with a 30-amp breaker. A bigger gauge of wire shows the ability to carry more current safely. You can use twelve-gauge wire with 20-amp or smaller circuitbreakers.
