Can you use bleach instead of chlorine in a pool?

You can use bleach or liquid chlorine with a conditioner level of 30 to 50 parts per million. Is that correct? The same chemical is found in liquid chlorine in pool stores and hardware stores. Liquid chlorine is stronger by volume than bleach.
