Can you use silicone on a sink drain?

Silicone caulk can be applied to either the underside of the sink's drain assembly or to the sink immediately around the drain hole opening. Silicone caulk can squeeze out from between the drain body and the sink, so you need to wipe it off before it becomes hardened.
