Do gas fireplaces make noise?

If your gas fireplace is making noises, there is usually no reason to be alarmed. A fan or blower causes a grinding or shrieking noise. Some gas fireplaces don't have this feature. Older fan systems can sometimes be quite noisy, but newer gas fireplaces with blowers are usually a lot quieter.
