Do generators use less fuel with less load?

5 questions. Generators do not use fuel. Is that correct? As much fuel as is necessary to maintain that speed is supplied by this. It requires less fuel to maintain the same speed with less mechanical load on the engine because of the lower electrical load on the generator.
