Do you have to replace cement board under tile?
There is no need to replace the damaged cement backer board. Is this true? It is difficult to remove tile from a cement backer board, and even harder to avoid damaging it. It's not usually worth the time and labor to remove the tile from the backer board since it is relatively inexpensive.
