Do you need 220 for a gas stove?

An electric range is being replaced. I have a 220-volt connection. Is that correct? Depending on your local codes, you may be able to use one leg of the 220 volt circuit to power the gas range. The electrician can wire an outlet for your gas range if they know the local codes.
