Does a heat pump need a txv?

Special low superheat ranges are available for the TXV's used for heat pump applications. Is that correct? Don't use a standard TXV when replacing a heat pump outdoor coil. There is a need for a TXV with a low superheat range. The indoor coil has a capillary tube.
