Does changing pipe size affect water pressure?

The static pressure isn't changed by increasing the pipe diameter. When you open a spigot, the water pressure at that spigot decreases somewhat, and because a larger pipe provides a lower resistance to flow, the water pressure decreases less with the larger pipe.
