Does voltage matter on capacitor?

A 50V rating is what would be used. If the power source is a DC power source, a 50-volt rating will not be enough for a Capacitor to charge up to 50 volts. The maximum voltage that a Capacitor should be exposed to is the one that the Capacitor will charge up to.
