You can earn a high school or GED. A good foundation of math, shop-classes and science will help you become a successful HVAC tech. You can find a formal apprenticeship program or complete technical/trade training. There is on the job training for new heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians. Get a valid license. You have to get your EPA certification.
