How do i know if my carbon monoxide detector is going off?

A short chirp will likely be heard if your detector is low on battery. In order to warn of dangerous CO levels, most detectors will beep 4 or 5 times in a row. Don't mistake dangerous levels of poisonous gas for a detector with low battery.
