How do I replace a Control Panel in an Upright Freezer?

The display for the freezer is in the control panel. A wire cable is used to communicate the control panel with the control board. Before replacing the control panel, check the wire cable connections. If the display doesn't work or the control panel is stuck, replace it.

Follow these steps to fix your issue:

  1. Disconnect the electrical power.

Shut off the circuit breaker for the freezer if you want to unplug it.

  2. Remove the control panel.

Remove the control panel with the help of the putty knife. Press the release tab on the plug to remove the wire harness.

  3. Install the new control panel.

You have to connect the control panel wires. Push the control panel in the door if the control panel is positioned on the door.

  4. Restore electrical power.

You can restore power by plugging in the freezer or the house circuit breaker.

Time required: 15 minutes.

You would need the following tools: putty knife, work gloves.
