If the detergent dispensers are cracked or leaking, replace them. If the detergent dispensers don't open properly during the dishwasher cycle, you may need a replacement. The entire dispenser assembly should be replaced if the latch is broken.
Follow these steps to fix your issue:
Shut off electrical power
Shut off the house circuit breaker if you want to unplug the dishwasher. The control panel should not light up if you press a control button or the power button.
Remove the outer door panel and control panel
The dishwasher door can be opened with the removal of the screws from the inner door panel. The outer door panel needs to be supported with one hand as you remove the last two screws. The outer door panel should be separated from the inner door panel and the control panel should be disconnected. Remove the outer door panel and control panel.
Remove the dispenser
There is a wire harness in the inner door. Pull off the mounting brackets and they will hang by the wire harness. Pull the dispensers out of the door by releasing the locking tabs.
Install the new dispenser
Lock the tabs when you insert the new dispensers. Attach the mount to the screws by re-installing it. The dispensers have a wire harness.
Reinstall the outer door panel and control panel
If you want to connect the user interface control wire harness, position the outer door panel and control panel close to the inner door. Attach the outer door panel and control panel to the inner door panel by connecting the user interface control wire harness. The mounting screws need to be reinstalled. The longer screws can be used to secure the control panel.
Restore electrical power
Plug in the dishwasher or reset the house circuit breaker.
You would need the following tools:
nut driver set, slot screwdriver, torx screwdriver, work gloves.
