How do I replace a Drive Belt in a Rear-Tine Tiller?

Follow these steps to fix your issue:

  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire

Pull the spark plug wire out of the plug.

  2. Remove the drive belt cover

Pull the drive belt cover off when you remove the mounting screws.

  3. Remove the drive belt

Pull the belt keeper off by removing the bolts from it. Pull the idler pulley off after removing the bolt. The drive belt can be removed from the engine and transmission pulleys.

  4. Install the new drive belt

The engine pulley and transmission pulley need to be moved to accommodate the new drive belt. Attach the idler pulley with the belt routed over it and through the belt guide. The belt keeper needs to be reinstalled. The belt must be routed through the belt keeper.

  5. Reinstall the drive belt cover
