The fan motor pulls air in through the front of the evaporator and pushes air out through the back of the coil. The condenses on the coil are pulled in by the air in the evaporator. The air is pushed out through the condenser. The fan motor should be replaced if it does not run.
The sealed system in the dehumidifier has a compressor that runs the refrigerant through it. If the compressor doesn't work, have a refrigerator service technician replace it; by law, an EPA-licensed technician must complete this repair.
