Agitator dogs are small cams that control the movements of the agitator. The dogs dig into the gear teeth in opposite directions to create movement. The agitator dogs should be replaced if the top half of it spins freely.
If the seat switch doesn't detect you in the seat, the engine will die. If you plug the wire harness, the seat switch will stop the engine. Make sure the seat switch wire harness is plugged in when the engine dies. If you find the seat switch plugged in, you should replace it.
If the steering is loose on your lawn tractor or riding mower, you should replace the front axle.
If you notice an oil leak in your mower's engine, it could be that the engine has blown the head gasket. The top of the engine has a cylinder head. A loss of power is caused by air leaking past a damaged head gasket. There is a gasket that doesn't seal the cylinder head mounting surfaces. The head gasket needs to be replaced if it leaks.
The bottom of the gearcase is where the shifter assembly is located. The drive system can be switched between the spin mode and the agitation mode. The drive system is monitored by a sensor on the shifter. The washer stops and signals an error code if the motor, sensor or mechanical parts of the shifter assembly fail. The shifter assembly should be replaced if it fails.
The buttons on the user interface board are used to set up the wash cycle. If the buttons don't work, replace the user interface board.
The grass is cut by the blade belt. Your mower won't cut the grass if the drive belt isn't working. A worn blade belt can cause other problems. If the blade belt is worn or broken, you should replace it.
The riding mower or lawn tractor has a fuel pump that moves fuel to the engine from the fuel tank. The fuel pump might not work if the engine won't start or stop. The fuel pump is cracked. The fuel pump should be replaced if it leaks or doesn't pump fuel.
The tie rod needs to be removed and replaced. The tie rod may need to be replaced if the steering is loose or the wheels don't turn.
The wash tub has a pressure switch. The washer won't fill properly if the water-level pressure switch is malfunctioning. It could not even fill to the point of overflowing. Replacement of the pressure switch if it doesn't accurately detect and control the water level in the washer is recommended.
The washer gearcase has internal gears that make the motion. The drive shaft is shifted and the drive tube is spun for the motion of the spin basket. The gearcase in a direct-drive washer should be replaced if it locks up or doesn't work in the spin mode. When the gearcase fails, it may leak oil and make a grinding noise.
The washer tub's movements are absorbed by shock absorbers. The outer tub is held in place by the shock absorbers, which allow reasonable movement during spin and agitated modes. Knocking and tub instability are a symptom of a failing shock absorber. Don't replace the shock absorbers if they don't maintain the tub's stability.
The water inlet valve assembly controls the fill function in the washer. If the washer won't fill and the valve doesn't close, replace the water valve assembly.
When the washer is in spin mode, the drive block on the top of the spin tube rotates the spin basket. The basket won't spin if the drive block wears out. The spin basket is held against the drive block by a spanner nut. The drive block should be replaced if the basket still wobbles.
When you shift the blade clutch lever to the engaged position, the blade clutch cable tightens the blade belt to spin the cutting blades. If the blade clutch cable is broken or worn, the blades won't spin. When the blades won't turn, look at the cable. If you find the blade clutch cable broken, replace it.
Follow these steps to fix your issue:
Disconnect the battery.
Set the parking brake when you park the tractor on a level surface. The key can be removed if the switch is turned off. Gloves are used to protect hands. Lift the chair. Tuck the negative cable away from the battery so it doesn't touch the battery post if you remove the bolt connecting it to the battery.
Remove the seat.
The seat bottom contains a retaining bolt and washer. To slide the seat forward, press the seat adjustment lever. Pull the seat off of the seat adjustment lever by releasing the locking tab. The seat adjustment lever can be removed.
Remove the old seat switch.
Remove the wire harness from the seat switch. Pull the seat switch from the seat by rotating it clockwise.
Install the new seat switch.
The seat switch needs to be pushed into the seat bottom to lock it. The wire harness needs to be connected to the switch.
Reinstall the seat.
While you snap the seat back into the brackets, support the adjustment lever with your hands. The retaining bolt and washer need to be removed.
Reconnect the battery.
The negative cable should be connected to the negative battery terminal. The seat should be lowered.
Time required: 15 minutes.
