How do I replace a Sensor Assembly in a Dehumidifier?

Follow these steps to fix your issue:

  1. Disconnect power

    The wall outlet has a power cord.

  2. Remove the collection bucket

    The front of the dehumidifier case has a water collection bucket.

  3. Remove the air filter

    The air filter needs to be removed from the grille. If the air filter is dirty, you can clean it.

  4. Remove the front grille

    The screws that secure the front grille to the frame need to be removed. Lift the front grille from the front of the frame and place it in front of the dehumidifier. The back of the grille has a wire harness on it. To avoid damaging the control board wire harness, keep the front grill directly in front of the dehumidifier.

  5. Remove the back panel

    The screws that hold the back panel in place need to be removed. Carefully pry out a bottom corner of the back panel and remove the dehumidifier's back panel.

  6. Remove the outer case

    The screws that hold the humidifier to the outer case need to be removed. The dehumidifier's outer case needs to be removed.

  7. Remove the sensor

    The electronic control board has a sensor wire harness. The collection bucket float switch has a wire harness on it. The thermistor is on the side of the coil. The humidity sensor needs to be removed. Remove the sensor assembly from the dehumidifier.

  8. Install the new sensor

    The front of the fins have a humidity sensor. Attach the thermistor to the copper sleeve. The wire harness needs to be connected to the bucket float switch. Attach the wire harness to the electronic control board.

  9. Reassemble the dehumidifier

    Use the mounting screws to secure the outer case. Attach the back panel to the dehumidifier with screws. Place the front grille on the dehumidifier. The back of the grille has a filter on it. There is a collection bucket in the front of the dehumidifier.

  10. Restore power

    The wall outlet has a plug for the dehumidifier.
