How do I replace a Speed Control Plate in a Stand Mixer?

The speed control plate is used to control the speed of the motor. The lever positions the speed control plate at the correct distance from the governor when you move the switch lever to a speed. The phase control board uses signals from the governor to apply the correct voltage to the drive motor. The governor and phase control board won't be helped by a damaged control plate. If the speed control plate is damaged, you should replace it.
