How do I replace a User Interface Board in a Front-Load Washer?

Follow these steps to fix your issue:

  1. Shut off the electricity.

    Plug the wall outlet into the power cord. Gloves are used to protect hands. Someone may be able to help you move the washer away from the wall.

  2. Remove the top panel from the washer.

    The top panel is held by 2 screws on the back of the washer. Lift the top panel from the back of the washer.

  3. Remove the screw on the back of the control panel.

    The control panel has a screw on it. The front of the washer has a screw on the right side.

  4. Remove the screws in the dispenser drawer housing.

    The drawer should be pulled forward until it stops. Pull the locking tab out of the dispensers housing by releasing it at the back of the drawer. The screws are on each side of the housing.

  5. Remove the control panel.

    Press on the release tabs to unplug the wire harness connections. Lift the control panel and release the top from the washer. The control panel needs to be removed from the washer.

  6. Remove the user interface board.

    The control panel has a user interface board on it. The user interface board should be removed.

  7. Install the new user interface board.

    Put the new interface control boards in the control panel. When you push the buttons, make sure that the buttons are lined and that the switches on the interface board are not turned on. The mounting screws need to be tightened.

  8. Reinstall the control panel.

    The control panel needs to be on the front panel. The dispensers have screws in them. The control panel has a screw on the back. There are wire harness connections for the control panel. The drawer housing has the detergent dispenser in it.

  9. Reinstall the top panel.

    To seat the panel on the washer frame, push the panel down. The back panel needs to be secured with screws. Don't over tighten.

  10. Restore the power.

    The electrical outlet should be plugged into the washer. The washer must be returned to its original location.

Time required: 30 minutes.

You would need the following tools: phillips screwdriver, slot screwdriver, work gloves.
