The dehumidifier's compressor and fan motor are regulated by the electronic control board. The electronic control board should be replaced if it doesn't work properly.
The sealed system in the dehumidifier has a compressor that runs the refrigerant through it. If the compressor doesn't work, have a refrigerator service technician replace it; by law, an EPA-licensed technician must complete this repair.
Follow these steps to fix your issue:
The wall outlet has a power cord.
Remove the collection bucket
The front of the dehumidifier case has a water collection bucket.
Remove the air filter
The air filter needs to be removed from the grille. If the air filter is dirty, you can clean it.
Remove the front grille
The screws that secure the front grille to the frame need to be removed. Lift the front grille from the front of the frame and place it in front of the dehumidifier. The back of the grille has a wire harness on it. To avoid damaging the control board wire harness, keep the front grille directly in front of the dehumidifier.
Remove the back panel
The screws that hold the back panel in place need to be removed. Carefully pry out a bottom corner of the back panel and remove the dehumidifier's back panel.
Remove the outer case
The screws that hold the dehumidifier to the outer case need to be removed. The dehumidifier's outer case needs to be removed.
Remove the fan capacitor
The control box has a screw on it. The control box has an electronic control board.
Remove the electronic control board
The control box has an electronic control board. Pull the electronic control board out of the way of the control box to get to the wires. Attach the wires to the new electronic control board with a picture of the wires and a label. Remove wires from the electronic control board.
Install the new electronic control board
Use your digital photo or labels as a guide to connect the wires to the new electronic control board. Attach the control board to the control box with the mounting screws.
Reinstall the fan capacitor
Attach the fan capacitor to the cabinet with the mounting screws.
Reassemble the dehumidifier
Use the mounting screws to secure the outer case. Attach the back panel to the dehumidifier with screws. Place the front grille on the dehumidifier. The back of the grille has a filter on it. There is a collection bucket in the front of the dehumidifier.
The wall outlet should be plugged into the dehumidifier.
