How do I replace an Electronic Control Board in a Top-Load Washer?

Follow these steps to fix your issue:

  1. Shut off the electricity

Plug the wall outlet into the power cord. Gloves are used to protect hands. Someone may be able to help you move the washer away from the wall.

  2. Remove the control knob

The control panel has a knob on it.

  3. Open the control console

The back panel of the console has 2 screws on it. Push back on the control panel and slide a knife under the right corner to release the mounting clip. To release the console, repeat on the left side. The console should be on top of the washer.

  4. Remove the electronic control board

The back of the electronic control board has wires that are connected to a digital photograph. Pull the wire plugs out of the connections on the back of the control board after releasing the locking tabs on the wire harness connectionplugs. The back of the control board has an air hose on it. There is a mounting screw on the electronic control board. Pull the control board out of the console by releasing the locking tabs. The air hose goes to the bottom of the washer tub. The control board can detect water levels.

  5. Install the new control board

Attach the control board to the locking tabs by snapping it in. The control board housing needs to be tightened firmly after the mounting screw is inserted. The back of the controlboard has an air hose. Attach all the wires to the back of the control board using your photograph as a guide. When the locking tabs snap into place, push the wires into the connections on the control board.

  6. Reinstall the console

To secure the console on the top panel, position the console on top of the panel and snap themounting clips into place. The back panel of the console has screws on it. The screws should be tightened firmly. Remove the control knob.

  7. Restore the electrical power

The electrical outlet should be plugged into the washer. The washer must be returned to its original location.

  8. Calibrate the washer

When the washer is shut off, the basket is empty, and the lid is closed, you can enter the diagnostic mode. Within about 6 seconds, turn the control dial clockwise, counterclockwise, and clockwise. When you successfullyactivate the diagnostic mode, the green status lights blink. If the status lights don't blink, turn the control dial one complete rotation counter-clockwise and try again. The Calibration Cycle can be selected in the diagnostic mode. The washer shuts off when the Calibration Cycle ends, after 2 to 3 minutes.
