How do I replace an Overlay in a Wall Oven?

A ribbon wire connection is needed to communicate the button selections to the control board. If buttons don't work, replace the membrane keypad. The control board's selection buttons are incorporated into the body of the control board. If it is damaged or discolored, replace it.

A safety gas valve and glow-bar oven igniter are included in most gas ovens. The components are connected in an electrical circuit. The safety gas valve opens when the glow-bar oven igniter is sufficiently hot to safely ignite the gas. If the oven igniter doesn't glow or isn't hot enough to open the gas valve, you should replace it. There is a separate igniter for the bake burner and the Broil burner in some ovens.

The bake element at the bottom of the oven and the broil element at the top of the oven provide heat for baking and broiling in an electric oven. If the oven isn't heating properly, you should replace them.
