How do I troubleshoot Ge Gfw Front-Load Washer that has a Heater that is failing?

Check the wire harness connections between the thermistor and the electronic control board when you unplug the washer. Check the wire harness connections between the heater and electronic control board. Fix broken wires and connect loose wires. Use a multimeter to check the resistance through the thermistor. At room temperature, the meter should measure between 12,000 and 15,000. If the resistance is outside the range, replace the thermistor. If thermistor resistance is ok, check the resistance of the heater. The meter should measure the resistance through the heating element. The meter should be replaced if it measure infinite resistance or zero resistance.
