How do I troubleshoot Ge Gfw Front-Load Washer that has a Motor that is locked?

Make sure the washer is not too full. Pull some clothes from the cycle. Don't fill the basket completely. Check the spin basket rotation if you didn't overload the washer. Pull your clothes out of the washer after canceling the wash cycle. You can drain the water from the tub by running a drain/Spin cycle. If this cycle does not remove the water, you can suck the water out of the drain hose using a wet/dry shop vac. After draining the water, open the door and use the spin basket to check for binding or resistance. There could be an item stuck between the spin basket and the outer tub if the basket doesn't spin smoothly. The spin basket will not spin freely if there is a damaged spin bearing. It takes a service technician to take the washer apart. The error code could be caused by a problem with the drive motor if the spin basket rotates smoothly. If the drive motor is not rotating because of loose or broken wires, you need to check the motor wire connections. The top and back washer panels have to be removed. Pull the motor rotor off the mounting bolt. There are wire harness connections between the drive motor and the inverter board. If the wire harness is damaged, you should replace it with a new one. The electronic control board and the tachometer have wire harness connections. If the wire harness is damaged, you should replace it with a new one. You will need to replace the drive motor if the wire connections are okay.
