How do I troubleshoot Ge Gtw Top-Load Washer that has a Motor that is locked?

Don't overload the washer. Pull the clothes out of the cycle. The basket should be filled lightly for future loads. If you didn't overload the washer, you can check for resistance by rotating the spin basket. There may be an item stuck between the spin basket and the outer tub if the basket doesn't spin smoothly. The spin basket will not spin freely if the spin bearing is damaged. This repair requires a service technician to disassemble the washer. If the spin basket rotates smoothly, there could be a problem with the drive motor. The drive motor could be affected by loose or broken wires. The control board and drive motor have wire harness connections. If the wire harness is damaged, you should replace it. To determine which parts need replacing, have a service technician examine the washer and test the motor and Capacitor.
