How do I troubleshoot Kenmore 790 Model Induction Cooktop that is displaying 54 error code?

Don't use the power. The element's temperature sensor resistance can be tested. At room temperature, resistance should be around 1000 ohms. The sensor should be replaced if it is malfunctioning. The power generator control board needs to be replaced if the resistance is normal.
