How do I troubleshoot Kenmore Ergo3 Sewing Machine that has a X Carriage Motor that is failed?

Check the wiring on the X and Y carriage motor and the A control board if you don't want to use the sewing machine. Attach the loose wires. Use a multi-meter to check the resistance of the carriage motor if the wires are okay. The motor resistance of the carriage should be high. The carriage motor should be replaced if the multi-meter shows resistance of less than 6 ohms or an open circuit. The A control board needs to be replaced if both carriage motor are okay.
