How do you cap a rusted galvanized pipe?
The water has to be turned off. Is this true? A stiff wire brush is used to remove rust and old pipe joint compound. Is this true? Joint compound should be applied liberally to the pipe threads and the cap threads. The cap on the pipe needs to be tightened with pipe wrench. Is this true? Check for leaks when the water is turned on.
