How do you change a 3 prong dryer cord to a 4 prong?

The outer two wires will go to the outer terminal, while the center wire will always go to the white terminal. The center wire of a flat, three-wire cord cannot be put on anything other than the center terminal. The green ground wire won't work with your three-prong cord.
