How do you connect plastic water pipe to copper pipe?

You can connect the two materials in many ways. A common method is to solder a female threaded fitting onto the copper pipe, screw in a male threaded plastic fitting and glue the plastic fitting to the copper pipe. You can't tighten the fitting if it leaks, so this isn't the best way to go.
