How do you get wet wood to burn in a wood stove?

To remove bark and wet wood, use a sharp knife/hatchet. If you can use a hatchet to split larger pieces of wood, you can expose the inner layers. Use the stripped kindling to start a small fire. The small fire can be used to heat and dry the larger pieces.
