How do you remove a broken plug from an outlet?

The circuit breaker needs to be turned off. To make sure the power is off, test it with a circuit tester. To find out how deep the broken prong is in the plug, you have to inspect it. Pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers if it's sticking out.
