How do you seal a valve cover gasket?

Take the old RTV with a cloth so as not to fall into the engine. Once the cap and coupling surfaces are clean and dry, apply the new RTV to the same places and install the new seal. The valve cap joints are designed to dry, so as not to apply the seal on the face of the seal.
