How do you size a steam pipe?

There are two factors that determine pipe size in a steam system. The allowable pressure drop of the total system and the initial pressure at the boiler. The maximum pressure at the boiler should not be greater than 20% of the total pressure in the system. All drops include line loss, elbows, valves, etc.
