How do you tighten compression joints?

If you want to tighten the nut, hold the compression fitting body tightly with a pair of grips. In the trade, it is said to not over tighten a compression fitting, leaving you more thread in the case of a leak and not distortion of the olive or fitting. A nut will need one turn after being tightened.
