How do you troubleshoot a multimeter?

Try to use the power on your multimeter. If the display is dim or the multimeter doesn't turn on, you may have a dead battery. You should be fine to go if you replace the battery. If you aren't getting accurate measurements with your multimeter, you may have faulty test leads.
