How do you unclog a shower drain with a plunger?

Put a rubber cup over the drain opening after removing the drain cover. If you can't get a good seal, apply some petroleum jelly to the edge of the cup. The shower stall should be filled with enough water to cover the cup's lip. The plunger handle needs to be moved quickly to force out the clog.
