How does a pressure switch work on a furnace?

An oven pressure switch is a safety device located near the inducing engine of a forced gas air furnace. A pressure switch is designed to detect the negative pressure created by the air-inducing engine during the start of the furnace and to turn off the ignition of the furnace if the air pressure is inadequate.
