How does hot water recirculating pump work?

A loop from the water heating to the faucet is created. When you turn on your hot water faucets, you get hot water quickly, because the unused hot water is drawn back through this loop by the pump. Is there anything else you'd like to see? When hot water makes a complete loop the sensor shuts the pump off.
